Copays
The majority of insurance plans today require the patient to pay co-pays for office visits. The co-pay amount is listed on your insurance card. The co-pay is part of the contract between the insurance company, the doctor, and the patient. The doctor is required by the insurance company to collect the co-pay from the patient. Blue Ridge Ear, Nose, Throat & Plastic Surgery, therefore, requires payment of your co-pay at the time of your visit and it will be collected when you check-in for your appointment.
Insurance Filing
If Blue Ridge Ear, Nose, Throat & Plastic Surgery has a contract with your insurer, only deductibles and co-payments will be required at the time of service. If NOT, you will be required to pay in full for your visit. Our staff will file your insurance claim to a non-contracted insurer as a courtesy to you (except federal government insurance carriers, which must be filed by the patient per federal regulations). Please remember that insurance claims and benefits are matters involving the patient and his or her insurance carrier. We will cooperate, but cannot assume the responsibility of securing benefits or referrals for you.
